Size: 35cm height x 30 cm x 30cm / Approx. weight: 6kg

This lamp design was inspired by the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, Egypt.

Handmade in Spain by master marquetry artisan Rubén Fabuel, these hexagonal lamp bases bring refined craftsmanship into luxury interior schemes.

Each piece is created entirely by hand using the meticulous art of marquetry — a slow, exacting process that requires patience, precision and a deep understanding of material. Every surface is carefully worked, assembled and finished by hand, allowing the natural pattern, texture and movement of the material to become part of the design.

The final finish is rubbed with beeswax, giving the surface a soft, natural lustre rather than a hard industrial shine. The result is a lamp base with quiet depth, warmth and individuality.

Includes socket, cable, and plug. Lampshade not included.

They are customizable in colour (as it is a natural material, the tones may vary depending on the dye) and pattern.

It requires approximately 50 hours of marquetry work and the lead time is approximately 14 days.

Care Instructions

Straw marquetry is a centuries-old artisanal technique, valued for its natural lustre, precision and delicacy. With thoughtful care, each piece can retain its beauty for many years.

As straw is an organic material, it should be protected from humidity, direct heat and excessive handling. Dust gently with a soft, lint-free cloth and avoid abrasive sprays or chemical cleaners. Each piece is finished with beeswax for protection.

To maintain the surface over time, apply a few drops of mineral oil or petroleum jelly to a lint-free cloth and wipe gently across the marquetry. Avoid the edges, as excess moisture or oil may lift the straw fibres.

Do not place heavy, rough or textured objects directly onto the marquetry surface.
